Post-thoracotomy Pain Control Using Bupivacaine

Abstract

|
Postoperative pain control is important for reducing patient´s discomfort and morbidity. Postoperafive pain cintrol was performed by pharmacological blockage of intercostal nerves with bupivacaine in 10 patients. Bupivacaine was injected intermittently throngh the indwelling catheter which was placed in the pleural space during the operation. Postoperative pain was excellently controlled with this procedure.
